Who We Are
We're so excited that you want to volunteer and speak on behalf of Donate Life North Carolina! Until now, our speaker’s bureau has been informal, yet impactful. We realize that community groups including businesses, churches, and schools want to hear more of YOUR stories and more about the life changing gift of donation. We are excited to formalize our outreach and create the Transplant Ambassadors program. Our mission is possible because of YOU. Welcome aboard!
What We Do
It would be difficult for one Donate Life NC staff member to fulfill these various requests. Therefore, Donate Life NC relies on its Transplant Ambassadors to act as the liaison between the requesting organization and the nonprofit organization.
We receive a wide range of requests for speakers to address various groups and attend events throughout the state. Our Transplant Ambassadors share their unique story and encourage community members to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. These opportunities range from shorter presentations (i.e. health fairs) to longer presentations (i.e. speaking to a class or civic group as the main focus of the program).
Transplant Ambassador Goals
- Gain knowledge and feel confident about spreading our message
- Speak on behalf of Donate Life NC at various events
- Educate the public on the topic of organ, eye, and tissue donation
- Answer questions and dispel myths
- Encourage audience/attendees to register as organ donors
