Welcome to NC Champions 4 Life

Please read this document prior to completing your volunteer registration and profile.

Welcome to NC Champions for Life – a volunteer collaboration between LifeShare Carolinas and Donate Life North Carolina. While are we two organizations with different staff and programs, we are working toward one common goal – to increase the number of registered organ, eye, and tissue donors in our state. And we could not achieve that goal without YOU!

  • Serves All of North Carolina
  • Primary Volunteer Opportunities
    • Share Your Story Media interviews, community presentations, hospital visits
    • Table Events Provide information, answer questions, help people register as donors
    • Special Events Participate in special events hosted by LifeShare in honor of our donors
    • Office Work Help with special projects at the LifeShare office in Charlotte
  • Primary Volunteer Opportunities
    • School Education Provide information & answer questions in high schools and colleges. Teens eligible to apply to complete a service project.
    • DMV Outreach Visit local DMV to provide promotional materials and support staff
    • Share Your Story Media interviews, community presentations
    • Table Events Provide information, answer questions, help people register as donors

During the application process, there are two crucially important steps:

1. Choose which organizations you want to volunteer with.

  • During registration you, you will be asked which organizations you are interested in volunteering with - you can serve with both!
  • LifeShare Carolinas only serves the southwestern part of the state. If you're not interested in volunteering in the Charlotte metro area and west of that, please only choose Donate Life NC.  LifeShare requires background checks for all volunteers.
  • Donate Life North Carolina serves the whole state. Donate Life NC requires background checks for adults teaching in high schools.
  • If a background check is required, our staff will be in touch with the next steps.

2. Choose which programs you are interested in.

  • Click the dark blue Become a Fan button for any program you want to volunteer with.
  • This will ensure you get emails about that program's volunteer opportunities.

After you complete your volunteer application, you will be required to complete a self-paced training.

  • A private YouTube link will be emailed to you. This video is approximately 30 minutes. If you need to pause and come back, YouTube will pick up where you left off.
  • During the video, you will learn background information about the following: LifeShare Carolinas, Donate Life North Carolina, our statewide collaboration NC Champions 4 Life, and the basics of organ, eye, and tissue donation.
  • Links to the training video and PowerPoint presentation can always be found on your Galaxy Digital volunteer homepage.
